I'm going to stop doing my monthly wrap-up and instead every Saturday post a weekly one. Because I'm posting this every Saturday these will be the books I've finished reading since the previous Saturday until Friday. I'll give a few thoughts. Some books might get actual reviews to come. But since I don't review anywhere close to all the books I read this just enables me to write a couple sentences. And gives you guys a way to actually see all of the books I do read.
This week I finished a total of eight books. Two of them were re-reads. Two of them were e-books, which means six were physical books. And three of them were ARC's/review books.
Origin(Lux #4) by Jennifer L Armentrout *****(re-read)
I love this series. It's addictive, fast-paced, snarky and totally swoon worthy. I absolutely adore Daemon. But I also connect with Katy. She's like my kindred spirit.
Opposition(Lux #5) by Jennifer L Armentrout *****(re-read)
Just finished off my re-reading binge of one of my favourite series. I have a feeling this will be a yearly thing.
Addicted to You(Addicted #1) by Krista & Becca Ritchie ****
Holy crap! I don't know what I was expecting going into this NA, but what I got was tough. This one is a raw and real look at addiction. Sex and alcohol addiction to be exact. The two MC's think that by keeping each others addiction a secret they can continue doing what they're doing without hurting anyone else. But really they're just big fat enablers whose lives are being destroyed. It was hard to read about their toxic relationship at times. But I was fully invested and just wanted to see both characters get help. They aren't bad people. Can't wait to continue the series very soon.

Fall With Me(Wait For You #4) by Jennifer L Armentrout ****.5
Why yes I did read 3 JLA books this week. I actually read this one on my birthday. So that was perfect. I was excited to get Roxy's story. She seemed to like this artistic, spunky girl in the last book. And she totally was. She's trying to come to terms with her past and learning not to take fault. She's also got a stalker. Reece is definitely a hot cop. Although they aren't my favourite couple of JLA's I really appreciate how mature JLA has started to make her guys. As with all romance books, there's a falling out. But with Reece, there's no BS. He doesn't sulk. He talks things out. Tells Roxy how he's feeling, what he wants and makes compromises. I really loved that there was no stupid unnecessary secret keeping or lack of communication. YAY for grown up relationships!
Deep(Stage Dive #4) by Kylie Scott ***
This series is just a light hearted, fun and quick bunch of romance books. Really nothing to write home about. Just about these four guys in a pretty popular band. Each books POV is from the lady that tames each rock star and captures their heart. This was probably my least favourite of the series. They're cheesy. But I laugh and enjoy them.

ReplyDeleteI am so excited to read your review of The Summer After me and you on Monday!

You read SO MANY books last week! Oooh, I'll definitely be checking out your review for The Summer After You and Me. I've been eyeing that one for a while and I can't wait to see what you think of it. I love how mature JLA's guys are getting! I think that's why I prefer her NA series to her YA series, LESS GUY DRAMA. Well, not really, but less of guys acting like 5 year olds. Which is nice!
ReplyDeleteI downloaded Addicted to You (finally). I totally forgot about it, and your post reminded me :)
