TAG: Creatures of the Night

Creatures of the Night Book TAG created by Kat at Katytastic. Find the original video here.

Basically I'm just going to recommend my favourite books featuring the following creatures. I'm also going to be trying really hard not to mention Harry Potter for every answer.

Vampires
Here's the thing, I've actually not read a lot of Vampire books. And of the books I've read with vampires, I haven't liked a lot of them. So this was an easy pick for me; Vampire Academy. I don't think this needs much explanation. It's an awesome series that gets better with each book. I've yet to read Bloodlines(I plan to marathon when the final book is released this winter), but I've heard that one is even better.

Werewolf
Another creature I haven't read many books centered around. But again, there's really not other option. Remus Lupin. He's one of my favourite characters. You can't help but feel for him. Yet he totally doesn't need your pity. And he's so good to Harry.

Zombie
Alright, truth. I have not gotten in this zombie fade. In fact I effing hate them. That means I sure haven't read more than like two things with zombie like things in them. So I don't know if this is sorta cheating, but I read the Reboot duology this summer and really enjoyed it. They're kind of like zombies. A person dies and some of them than reboot themselves and come back as stronger less emotional version of themselves. The longer before a person reboots the stronger and more android like they are. It's pretty cool.

Ghost
Ha ha....*shivers* My least favourite paranormal creature, thing, whatever. Seriously though, ghosts scare the bejesus out of me. So if there's a paranormal book I'm staying away from, it's one that involves ghosts. For the most part anyhow. I really liked the Anna duology. It's totally creepy and I probably slept with the lights on. But the atmospheric writing and characters drew me in anyhow. Anna is a super freaky ghost. She'll murder you.

Witch/Warlock/Spellcaster
Staying away from the very obvious, but best answer, still leaves me with a lot of options. I love me some magic. I find epic fantasy really has some the best magic systems. One of my very favourite fantasy trilogies(soon to be series) has a pretty cool mix of magical elements. The Study Series is bloody brilliant. Everything about it is wonderful. It's been too long since I read it, but with a new book coming out early next year I will be getting my re-reading on very shortly.

Fairy/Fae
These creatures I have a very love/hate relationship with. I hated them all until I read The Iron Fey series last year. Oh my God, I love those books. They made me second guess my hatred of all Fey. I just loved everything about the books; the world, writing and characters. Especially the characters. Seriously, it took me like five days to read all six books that were published at the time. I'd say that says something.

Demon
I'm pretty sure this will come as no surprise, The Dark Elements Series. Roth is a demon. Roth is a complete jackass. But that doesn't stop him being the most swoon-worthy and hot demon out there. His attitude and snappy conversational skills also don't hurt his image. He is making a run for one of my top fictional boyfriends. Clearly the White Hot Kiss and Stone Cold Touch are perfect books too. You know I am a complete fangirl for JLA, I love anything she writes. But, this is easily my favourite series of hers to date.

Angel
I have two favourite angel series. As a whole though, I loved The Unearthly Trilogy the most. The whole angel thing can get quite repetitive. The same thing over and over again just regurgitated under a different title. And I was totally feeling that way until Unearthly came around. Guys, if you think you're over the fallen angel trend but haven't given Unearthly a try, I'd recommend picking it up. I think it will change your mind. It's not cheesy at all. Clara is totally relateable and kick-ass. Plus there's Tucker. Yup. *swoon*

Alien
Again, I'll stay away from the glaringly obvious answer and say The Saga graphic novels. This has so much hype around it this year. It's soooo deserved. I'm not a graphic novel connoisseur by any means. But I love my sci-fi and originality. Saga delivers on both accounts. It's fun and hilarious. The story pulls you in on the first page. The base plot about star-crossed lovers isn't new but everything beyond that is unique. Especially the characters. Best bunch of rag tag characters I've meet in a long time.

Superpowered Human
Ummm...How about my most favourite series out there. The Elemental series is about extremely hot brothers that can control the elements. Need I say more? Although if you've been around my blog before you know I name drop this series at least once a week. Obviously I think it deserves way more readers. Kemmerer is a genius writer. It's fantastic how I can go from laughing one page to gasping on the next. If you want action, cool characters that can control the elements(very cool), with whip fast dialogue than there is no other option. Obviously.

What are some of your favourite paranormal creatures?

Happy Halloween!

Miniviews #17: Stone Cold Touch & Sublime

Guys! This book! You should know that White Hot Kiss is one of my favourite reads of this year. Also my favourite JLA book to date. Obviously, I couldn't wait to get my grabby little hands Stone Cold Touch. Especially after the ending of WHK. Then before the release, JLA throws out that she doesn't know who Layla is going to end up with, so she's leaving it up to her readers. WHAT? What a unique idea; letting her readers decide. So obviously that meant that Stone Cold Touch was really going to throw Zayne into the mix. Which is fine, but really didn't matter to me. There will only ever be one option for Layla. Roth. Roth is just perfection. #TeamRoth
SCT sees Roth come back with some very unsettling news. Turns out that everything that went down, even Roth sacrificing himself, didn't completely stop hell from seeping into Layla's life. Layla also finds her powers evolving and changing. She's finding herself even more of an outcast among the gargoyles. It also doesn't help that Zayne has finally noticed that she's no longer a little girl.
I still love Layla. She's really growing up and becoming more sure of herself. Her life is all over the place, clearly, she's still scared about what her demon side could do to the ones she loves. But that doesn't stop her kicking ass. Zayne is the good guy. He's handsome, whole and nice. And if Roth wasn't in the picture I totally would have fallen for Zayne. There just isn't any competition. This is also a case of being too late. I feel like Zayne has really only taken notice of Layla because of Roth. He's had years with her. His motivation for wanting Layla just doesn't sit right with me. I have no doubt he loves her. Just not as much as he probably thinks he does. Nor in the way she deserves. But Roth. *sigh* Okay, Roth had his jackass moments(he's a demon prince after all). There were times I wanted to punch him for pushing Layla away even though it was obvious that was far from what he wanted to be doing. He clearly thought he was doing it for her own good. His inner turmoil was real. But I never wavered from knowing that even for a demon, Roth loves Layla completely. His actions never matched with to his words. I will forever and always be #TeamRoth.
I really think that this trilogy is JLA at her best. The dialogue is so snappy and organic. Not only does it give us Roth(swoon), but also Layla. And really all the other characters are fantastic. JLA really knows how to write a paranormal romance that gives its readers every aspect that we could want in a paranormal romance. I may have guessed what was going to go done/be revealed at the end of SCT but that didn't stop me from gasping(I was really hoping I was going to be wrong). Needless to say, Every Last Breath is going to be an explosive series ender.
Oh, and guys, Bambi gets, even more, epic this time around. I could use a Bambi in my life.

Sublime by Christina Lauren
Publisher: Simon and Schuster
Publication Date: October 14th, 2014
Pages: 336
Source: Purchased
Rating: 3.5/5
Sublime is one of those books that you're thoroughly devouring and thinking this is great as you're reading along. Then a few days go by and you realize all the plot holes and maybe it wasn't what you thought it was. I'm glad I left this one to review. I still enjoyed it. Just thinking back it really wasn't all it promised to be. Sublime is a romance novel. It just so happens the romance is between a living boy and a ghost. There were some really good paranormal elements thrown into the story. There is definitely some spooky and eerie moments.
Lucy suddenly appears in the forest and she has no recollection of why. As she finds her way to the school it quickly becomes apparent that people aren't seeing her. Kind of like she's invisible. Expect she's not because there are a few that notice her. One of them being, Colin. She knows she's here for him. Colin is instantly drawn to Lucy. As they start to unravel the mystery behind Lucy's death, Colin also comes to the conclusion that the closer he comes to death the closer she can get to Lucy. Which in turn is making Lucy become stronger. Something doesn't seem right there. There's a lot of questions raised about why Lucy came back and why it's Colin she came back for. And unfortunately, I found the ending pretty pointless. Nothing was explained. It wasn't unsatisfying. Just kind of an alright it is what is ending. Sublime is a shortish book and a stand alone. It really could have used an additional 50 pages to just fill in all the plot holes. Like I said, I really enjoyed the story and was fully invested and turning pages. Having read all of Lauren's romance books, I know they can do the romance. It was nice to see them branch out with their writing. I would just recommend going into Sublime thinking of it as an eerie but fluffy YA romance. Something quick to read on a rainy night.

Happy reading!

Top 5 Books I'd Recommend for Halloween!

As I've mentioned plenty of times, I am a big chicken. I really don't read anything that's the least bit scary. That being said, I've recently broken out of the shell and have been reading some more spooky/eerie/creepy/thriller type reads. Here's ones I've really enjoyed or even loved(over the years or more recently).

5. The Forest of Hands and Teeth

I read this one years ago. Before the zombie craze. I don't like zombies. I'm not into watching or reading about them. But I remember being thoroughly creeped out and scared by this one. Think like The Village.

4. The Body Finder

This is a great series. It's not scary. Violet can hear echos of the dead. Whether that's coming across a dead animal in her backyard or coming in contact with a murder. A total thriller with a ton of creepy moments. Especially when you get chapters from the killers POV.

3. Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea

This book is so utterly weird and unique. I don't even know how to describe it. The town Violet lives in is eerie. The crumbling mansion Violet lives in even more eerie. Than the intriguing stranger that turns up at Violet's house just might be the devil. Dun dun dun.

2. Anna Dressed in Blood

Cas is a ghost hunter. Of course the ghosts he comes across aren't the nice ones. They're nasty, killing machines. He's tasked with destroying, Anna. Who might be the evilest ghost yet. So you can just imagine the scary ass scenes this book has. I slept with the light on. But I loved it anyhow.

1. The Madman's Daughter

How many times have I mentioned this book recently? I'm just going to link my review. Shepherd has managed to write one of the creepiest books I've read. A lot of bits made me shiver. But that didn't stop me reading. This book is bloody fantastic.

What are some of your favourite spooky reads?

Miniviews #16: Echos of Scotland Street & Clipped Wings

Echos of Scotland Street by Samantha Young
Publisher: NAL Trade
Publication Date: October 7th, 2014
Pages: 336
Series: On Dublin Street #5
Source: Purchased
Rating: 4.5/5
Echos of Scotland Street was a very highly anticipated book for me. Cole Walker is all grown up. And guys, Cole grew up. Out of Young's men he really gave Nate a run. It's one thing that I'm overly obsessed with inked up guys these days, so already Cole had my interest. He's working at a tattoo parlor too. But his personality was just the icing on the cake. Cole is just a good guy. Nice to the core. Just a stand up guy, doesn't play games. And isn't a liar. *fans shelf* As soon as, Shannon enters his life he's a goner. Even though she doesn't deserve him, to begin with anyhow. Shannon is our MC. I really liked her voice. There was a couple of times I wanted to tape her mouth shut. She had a tendency to judge a book by its cover, especially with, Cole. But I got why she did. She's a very broken girl. Shannon has just run away from an abusive relationship. Her family are awful and have blamed her for finding herself in that situation and also because her brother beat her ex to a pulp which landed him in jail. Totally, Shannon's fault. Right... So obviously, Shannon had a lot of inner turmoil and trust to work through.
Like I said, she immediately judged, Cole based on his ink and where he works. Sure, Cole came on a little strong. But he was nothing but genuine and nice to her. And as anybody that's read this series knows that, Cole had an extremely hard and difficult upbringing. So when, Shannon throws some harsh, undeserved words his way he backs off. After being told that she was unfair with him, I like how hard she worked to gain his trust again. Their relationship was super cute. Sure, Shannon unnecessarily kept some secrets to herself, which made, Cole take a step back. But you know what, I really enjoyed how they worked through their relationship. Shannon just needed somebody good in her life and Cole was it. It was heartwarming to see how he just believed in her. Encouraged her where nobody else ever had. And by finding, Cole in her life she gained a new family with all of Cole's extended family and his awesome friends.
Cole and Shannon don't beat Nate and Liv for my favourite couple. But there are definitely a close second. They were just adorable.

Clipped Wings by Helena Hunting
Publisher: Gallery Books
Publication Date: March 4th, 2014
Pages: 391
Series: Clipped Wings #1
Source: Purchased
Rating: 4.5/5
What a freakin' surprise, Clipped Wings was. I obviously don't pick a book up thinking I'm going to hate it. But I'm also weary going into a NA book. So many of them are just the same story regurgitated under a different title. Clipped Wings may have the basics to sound like 90% of the romance books out there but at its core is totally unique. Hayden is one of the romance tropes I'm totally loving and fallen all over this year; inked up "bad boy" working at a tattoo parlor. Mmmmm.... As soon as Hayden's eyes land on, Tenley there's an instant attraction. But it's not as easy as that. Tenley is working across the street from Hayden at his aunts book shop. So he's making excuses to drop by everyday, but, Tenley is having none of that. It's not that she doesn't find, Hayden hot. It's that her past is stopping her from pursuing him. She's timid and scared. And, Hayden's appearance is not the most welcoming. Of course their attraction for each other can't be kept under wraps. Once, Tenley realizes she can't keep herself from, Hayden she wants to get right into his pants. But, Hayden is hesitant to go to fast with her. He doesn't want to scare her off. He's quickly finding that he's forming a very solid and intense bond with her. One that will destroy him to lose.
I totally fell in love with these guys. Hayden's past escapades don't really paint him in a positive light, but it's clear that he has tried really hard to change. Even before he met, Tenley he was leading a better lifestyle. Although he's demons aren't all at bay. Tenley's recent past is extremely heartbreaking. She lost everybody she loved and blames herself for living through it when they didn't. It's obvious why she's hesitant to let herself open up to, Hayden. Not only is she scared to lose him too, but she's also scared about letting him into her secrets. She's sure that will send him running the other way. I do hate when there's a lack of communication in a relationship. If you can't open up about your past to your partner because you're afraid they'll do a runner, than you probably shouldn't be in a relationship. BUT I don't feel like, Hayden and, Tenley's communication was lacking, I got the feeling that, Tenley would have told Hayden about everything. She just had to work up to it. It was a lot to lay out to him. She had to be ready, but she also needed to make sure, Hayden was going to be around for the long term. It made sense to me. They both had a lot to work through. Battle through their demons. Sure a relationship might hinder your personal progress, but I felt that, Hayden and, Tenley really could help each other out. Once all the shit was out in the open and their was complete trust, they were only good for each other.
I'm now pushing, Clipped Wings on all my NA/romance reader friends. It's a total gem. But I'm also warning everyone to have the second book ready to go. You're going to have to jump right in.

Happy reading!

Canada is also still in a state of shock after the terrible events that took place this week. Very, very sad.
Book wise I did have a Book Outlet order come in. #sorrynotsorry There are a lot of good books on there right now, I couldn't help it. And I think I keep myself under control. I only bought 7....
I also received/picked up some new releases. Very, very exciting new releases. Stone Cold Touch was one my highly anticipated releases. It was freakin' wonderful. #TeamRoth Netgalley was also very good to me this week.

Top 5 Favourite Book Titles!

5. Fangirl

Because I am one.

4. The Sea of Tranquility

It reminds me of the moon. And I LOVE anything that makes me think of space. Even though this book has not a single sci-fi element. BTW, if you haven't read this book what have you been doing with your life? Nothing, obviously.

3. The Chaos of Stars

Space! Plus why are the stars out of control? (I know this book is mythology based)

2. City of a Thousand Dolls

Why so many dolls? What is going to happen? But really, it sounds like an epic fantasy book.

Rowdy by Jay Crownover: Release Day Launch with Review + Giveaway

Rowdy by Jay Crownover

Publisher:
William Morrow
Publication Date: October 21st, 2014
Pages: 400
Series: Marked Men #5
Source: Purchased
Rating: 4.5/5
Add to Goodreads

The New York Times and USA Today bestselling Marked Men series continues with this sizzling, sexy story of love, heartbreak, fate, and second chances.

After the only girl he ever loved told him that he would never be enough, Rowdy St. James knocked the Texas dust off his boots and set out to live up to his nickname. A good ol’ boy looking for good times and good friends, Rowdy refuses to take anything too seriously, especially when it comes to the opposite sex. Burned by love once, he isn't going to let himself trust a woman again. But that’s before his new co-worker arrives, a ghost from the past who’s suddenly making him question every lesson he ever learned.

Salem Cruz grew up in house with too many rules and too little fun—a world of unhappiness she couldn't wait to forget. But one nice thing from childhood has stayed with her; the memory of the sweet, blue-eyed boy next door who’d been head over heels in love with her little sister.

Now, fate and an old friend have brought her and Rowdy together, and Salem is determined to show him that once upon a time he picked the wrong sister. A mission that is working perfectly—until the one person that ties them together appears, threatening to tear them apart for good.

By now my love and obsession for Jay and her Marked Men series should come as no surprise. Right before the fourth novel, Nash was released I discovered the series. I also devoured every single book and than try to not pull all my hair out waiting on, Rowdy. I knew Rowdy would be different. Before each guy gets their own book, you kind of get a sense of that guy through his friends. You know Rowdy is this mysterious ladies man with a very distinct look. Call me intrigued.
I love how Jay is able to seamlessly set up the next Marked Men book in each epilogue. At the end of, Nash we saw, Rowdy coming face to face with his past. She goes by the name of, Salem. They have some history together. Just a tiny bit. The past saw, Salem leaving a fifteen year old, Rowdy heartbroken and in her dust. He's understandably not very excited to see her standing in his shop. And even less enthused to find out she'll be working with him.
The thing is, Salem took the job at the new shop only when she realized, Rowdy worked there. It's been ten years since she last saw him, but that doesn't mean she's stopped thinking about him. He was her best friend. And by her landing in his life again, she's hoping to make it more.
Rowdy follows a different formula than the other Marked Men books. There isn't some big fallout between the lovers that they need to overcome. Rowdy and Salem need to understand their past before they can move forward together. Rowdy was brought up in the system after his mother was murdered, but when he found himself neighbours to, Salem and her sister, Poppy things got better. Until the sisters ended up leaving him, too. Rowdy comes across as the big guy. He's covered in ink and piercings. And ladies never get a second go with him. He doesn't see the point, he lost his first love, as far as he's concerned that was it. Salem showing up beings to change all that for him. Not only is she this beautiful 50's pin-up looking women, she's sassy, smart, strong and caring. The past may be hard to bring up and get out in the open, but once it is they find a home in each other. Rowdy also realizes it's not about firsts, it's about lasts. That's what's most important.
I loved Rowdy and Salem together. I loved how they were brought together again. And I loved how they dealt with their pasts finally really being out in the open. They dealt with it together as a strong partnership, but they also dealt with it individually with the support of the other. Score one for a strong relationship with communication and hot sex.
I love watching these intense, scary yet beautiful looking guys find love. They all have these big hearts and once they find their lady that can match them and their intensity it's game over. It's quite enduring and heartwarming. Jay also may have given me unrealistic thoughts about the type of guys I'd find in a tattoo parlor around here. I'm sure these guys exist somewhere else. I just know that if I walked into a shop around here all I'd come out with would be herpes not a Rowdy. Brittany sad.

EXCERPT:

WHEN I PUT THE key he had given me in the door to his apartment it felt like the end of a long journey. Really it was only a little over twelve hours and I had stopped to nap once along the way, but it still felt like too long since I had seen his face or been able to touch all that toned and tattooed skin. Jimbo greeted me at the door when I pushed it open. His tongue lolled out of his mouth and he jumped up and put his paws on my legs. He was going to be huge when he finally grew into his fuzzy body and I was overwhelmed at how happy I was to see him. I dropped to my knees and rubbed my face in his neck as he licked me all over my face. I was obviously missed and I had to say it was just one more reason I knew I was finally where I was supposed to be. It was late, so the apartment was dark.

I checked the dog’s food and water, trying to be quiet in case Rowdy was already asleep. I was winding my way toward his bedroom when a haphazardly discarded sketch pad lying on the couch caught my eye in the dim light. I paused for a minute to pick it up and felt my heart stop and then start to race as I flipped through the first few pages. There were a couple of drawings that were obviously for clients, tattoos that hadn’t made it from paper to skin yet, but most of the pristine white pages were covered with images wearing my face. There was mermaid me, and naughty- sailor- girl me. There was sassy Indian girl me with long Pocahontas braids and there was sexy devil me standing next to angelic me. There were dozens of them all in different shapes and sizes, but every single image was undoubtedly modeled after my distinct look. I wasn’t sure if he had drawn them all over this last week while I had been gone or over the months we had been chasing each other in circles.

Either way it made my heart swell and the full certainty that I was it for him settle deep inside my bones. I set the pad down and tiptoed through the hall. Jimbo took one look at where I was going and huffed out a disgusted- sounding snort. The poor guy had learned early on that he wanted no part of what happened between his humans when they were together in the bedroom. The light was off and Rowdy was sprawled on his stomach across the covers. His blond hair was sticking up every- where and he hand one arm bent up under his head. The only thing that could have made the sight better would have been if he hadn’t bothered with the black boxers before crashing out.

Even with them obscuring the view, I couldn’t complain. I let out a breathless sigh and crept closer so that I could lean over and touch my lips to that anchor on the side of his neck. I felt his pulse leap and tasted the salt on his skin as he murmured sleepily and rolled over onto his back. Those infinitely blue eyes glowed at me in the dark as a grin pulled up the corner of his mouth.

“Hey.”

Every touch has its price

Layla Shaw is trying to pick up the pieces of her shattered life—no easy task for a seventeen-year-old who’s pretty sure things can’t get worse. Her impossibly gorgeous best friend, Zayne, is forever off-limits thanks to the mysterious powers of her soul-stealing kiss. The Warden clan that has always protected her is suddenly keeping dangerous secrets. And she can barely think about Roth, the wickedly hot demon prince who understood her in ways no one else could.

But sometimes rock bottom is only the beginning. Because suddenly Layla’s powers begin to evolve, and she’s offered a tantalizing taste of what has always been forbidden. Then, when she least expects it, Roth returns, bringing news that could change her world forever. She’s finally getting what she always wanted, but with hell literally breaking loose and the body count adding up, the price may be higher than Layla is willing to pay…

EXCERPT:

I’d remained in bed after that, trying to sort through the odd tingling in my chest. There was a slight smile on my lips, because Zayne…well, he’d made my day, but then I’d remember what Roth had said to me the night before and the smile would wash away as if it had never been there.

I probably needed to get used to the whiplash mood swings.

It wasn't until after dinner that I decided to scrub a day’s worth of gunk off myself.Gingerly, I peeled the bandage off, happy to find that the cut in my arm was healing as expected. I didn't need to cover it anymore. The arm was still tender, but the Warden blood in me was quickly undoing the damage from the iron.

After changing into fresh pj’s, like a total hermit, I padded over to my desk, where I’d left my cell phone. It had been on silent all day and when I tapped the screen, I wasn't surprised to see a slew of texts from Stacey.

Where r u?

R u skipping, u ho?

A minute later: Your locker misses u. Guess u sick with the herp?

Oh my God. I laughed out loud, grinning as I thumbed through her texts. Our bio sub is still hot. U r missing this.

Bio is lonely.

My boobs miss u. How weird is that?

That was notably weird and yet not surprising.

If I get my cell taken from me, it’s ur fault.

Holy shit, Layla, where r u?!?

Air punched out of my lungs as I read the next text and the several following them.

U have no idea who just walked into bio!!!

Roth is here!

Holy Canola oil, why aren't u here to witness this?

Ok. He says he had mono. Srlsy? Do people still get mono? And who in the duck was he kissing? A second later—Duck? I didn't mean duck. That’s SO not what I meant, autocorrect.

Another text had come in about fifteen minutes after the last one. He asked where u were. I told him u joined a cult. I laughed. He didn't

Finally, the last text was to call her if I wasn't dead.

“What in the Hell?” I tossed my cell onto the bed, mouth hanging open.

Jennifer and Harlequin are doing something really different for the last book in the trilogy, Every Last Breath. Us, the reader can actually decide who Layla will choose and ultimately end up with. How freakin' cool is that? Talk about readership interactions. Nothing is more interactive than choosing the outcome in an epic love triangle. Now just know I am whole heartily #teamRoth. I have not read Stone Cold Touch yet, I am actually currently reading it. It doesn't matter. There is nothing that will change my mind. Roth stole my heart and life in White Hot Kiss and I don't want them back. For the next three weeks I will be all over social media with my #teamRoth. Also know that I will judge you based on who you vote for. If it isn't, Roth I will cut you out of my life. JK....Not really.

Roth vs. Zayne:

Beginning today you’ll have 3 weeks to visit the series website, www.thedarkelementsseries.com, to take a poll and decide which guy Layla should ultimately choose in the final book in the trilogy, Every Last Breath.

At the end of 3 weeks, we will tally all the votes, and that’s when Jennifer L. Armentrout will start writing Every Last Breath. The guy who gets the most votes is the one Layla will pick.

To prevent early spoilers, we're not going to reveal who won the poll in advance…you’ll have to wait until Every Last Breath goes on sale on July 28th, 2015 to find out whether Zayne or Roth wins Layla in the end. We promise the book will be epic and definitely worth the wait!

Who do you want Layla to end up with? Go to www.thedarkelementsseries.com and vote for your choice!

White Hot Kiss is one of my favourite books I've read this year. It is Jennifer at her best. And I've read 95% of everything she's published to date. Now is the perfect time to start the series, you can jump right into the sequel, show your love for which team you are(#teamRoth, remember my threats) and cast your vote. Seriously guys, this is the coolest thing an author has done. Just think about books you've read where you're ship never sailed. Well now if it doesn't sail you've only got yourself to blame, not the author. So get reading and get voting. #teamRoth

Happy reading!
