Number of Re-Reads: 32(so happy with this number)
Genre I Read the Most From: I think it's gotta be New Adult. I really got into it this year.
2014

1. Best Book I Read in 2014? A Court of Thorns and Roses. A-MAZ-ING!

2. Book I was excited about & thought I was going to love more but didn't? On the Fence. It was still cute, but lacked a lot of the elements I loved from West's previous books.

3. Most surprising(in a good or bad way) book I read in 2014? Unravel Me. I very strongly disliked Shatter Me. But with the series ending I decided to give it another go. And was pleasantly surprised by how much better Unravel Me was. Juliette realizing what an idiot Adam is really helped me enjoy the book more. Of course Warner also might have helped improve my enjoyment. I also read and absolutely loved Ignite Me.

4. Book I "Pushed" the most people to read(and they did) in 2014? Outlander. With the show starting more people were showing interest. So I threw the book at my friends and co-workers and said read it first, you will not be disappointed. None were. Plus the added bonus of meeting Jamie Fraser only improves your life.

5. Best series I started in 2014? Best Sequel of 2014? Best series ender of 2014? Dorothy Must Die is the best series opener. Cress is hands down the best sequel(or 3rd book :p). The Shadow Throne is easily the best ender, EPIC!

6. Favourite new author I discovered in 2014? I'm taking this as new-to-me author. And that would be Jennifer Armentrout. Why the hell did I wait so long to pick up one of her books? *facepalm* She is now my ultimate crack cocaine. I read about 25 of her books in 2014.

7. Best book from a genre I don't typically read/was out of my comfort zone? The Madman's Daughter. I loved this one. Which is surprising because I'm a chicken and don't like anything horror. But this was brilliantly gothic. Made me less scared to pick up more books in this genre.

8. Most action packed/thrilling/unputdownable book of the year? Sacrifice. The whole Elemental Series is packed full of action. But Sacrifice was literally every other page of adrenaline  filled moments. Totally had my heart racing.

9. Book I read in 2014 that I am most likely to re-read in 2015? Maybe Someday. I NEED to re-read it soon. I've been having withdrawals since I read it back in March.

10. Favourite cover of a book I read in 2014?

11. Most memorable character of 2014? Male is Roth. God, what is there to forget about him? His one liners are so snappy. He's just so swoony.
Female is Celeana. She is effing kick ass and I want to be her.

12. Most beautifully written book read in 2014? Ignite Me. Everyone and their mother knows how spot on Mafi is with her prose.

13. Most thought provoking/life changing book of 2014? Forbidden. The topic of incest is so taboo, but Suzuma writes about it in such a way that you can't help but want to discuss this book with everyone. Well you pass around a box of tissues.

14. Book I can't believe I waited until 2014 to finally read? Noughts & Crosses. It took Samantha gifting me the box set(thank you, you're the bestest) to finally read it. It was fantastic. I'm stupid for putting it off for so long.

15. Favourite passage/quote from a book I read in 2014?
“If we could capture feelings like we capture pictures, none of us would ever leave our rooms. It would be so tempting to inhabit the good moments over and over again. But I don't want to be the kind of person who lives backwardly, who memorializes moments before she's finished living in them. So I plant my feet here on this hillside beside a boy who is undoing me, and I kiss him back like I mean it. And, God help me, with the sky wrapped around us in every direction, I do mean it.”
Open Road Summer by Emery Lord

“It's okay to be scared, I really think that's how that whatever it is you're meant to be doing matters, but it's not okay to not find that thing you're supposed to be doing because you're afraid of something new.”
Rowdy by Jay Crownover

16. Shortest & longest books I read in 2014?
Shortest is Dangerous Dream at 46.
Longest is The Fiery Cross at 1,443.

17. Book that shocked me the most? Forbidden. Everything about this book shocked me; the story, the topic, the writing, how much I loved it, the ending, etc... Everything.

18. OTP of the year? Feyre and Tamlin from A Court of Thorns and Roses.

19. Favourite non-romantic relationship of the year? I'll say it again, Reagan and Dee from Open Road Summer is the best female friendship I've ever read.

20. Favourite book I read in 2014 from an author I've previously read from? Maybe Someday. Gorgeous. One of my favourite books ever.

21. Best book I read in 2014 that I read based solely on a recommendation from somebody else/peer pressure? The Lux Series. As I said earlier, this is the year I actually read a JLA book(well all the books). I kept telling Samantha I was holding off on starting Obsidian until the last book came out. But she kind of wouldn't let up. Telling me I shouldn't wait. So I eventually gave in and read the 4 books published at the time in 3 days. So thanks for the push, Samantha. :)

22. Newest fictional crush from a book I read in 2014? Hardest question ever! I have so very many. So many... I have to name two of my main guys from 2014; Roth and Matt Finch. Total babes.

23. Best 2014 debut I read? Open Road Summer.

24. Best worldbuilding/most vivid setting I read this year? A Court of Thorn and Roses. Sooo intricate, intriguing and unique.

25. Book that put a smile on my face/was the most fun to read? I've Got Your Number. Just pretty funny and silly. Total romcom.

26. Book that made me cry in 2014? A good portion of them. Made me ugly cry goes to Heir of Fire(or the destruction of feels book) and Ugly Love(or the stop ruining my life book).

27. Hidden gem of the year? Clipped Wings. Total indie book that as soon as I finished I tweeted all my NA/romance lover friends to pick up that instant. I know Jen recently read it and told me I destroyed her life, but in a good way.

28. Book that crushed my soul? Heir of Fire. Maas is absolutely the master destroyer of souls and feels.

29. Most unique book I read in 2014? The Lover's Dictionary. Told in dictionary format where every page is a different word that follows a couples relationship.

30. Book that made me the most mad? My Life Next Door. My anger over a certain character and situation is still hard to contain.

1. New favourite book blog I discovered in 2014? I only started this blog in late 2013, so I really discovered most blogs I visit this year. Here's a few blogs I love and they're great ladies.
The Secret Life of A BookwormA Flurry of PonderingsReviews From A BookwormI Wish I Lived in A LibraryBlog of ErisedMaji BookshelfBo-ok Nerd Canada

2. Favourite review I wrote in 2014? I don't know. I guess the one I'm most proud of is for Maybe Someday

3. Best discussion/non-review post I had on the blog in 2014? Yea, I'm pretty uncreative and haven't done any discussions. Something I hope to change in 2015. But I did like My Book Boyfriends post I made for Valentines Day.

4. Best event that I participated in(author signings, festivals, virtual events, memes, etc...)? I went to a lot of author signings this year. Which are fun. But I think the most fun event was Raincoasts Spring Read Blogger Event. I joined via Hangout and it was a lot of fun interacting via Twitter with other bloggers watching and Raincoast.

5. Best moment of bookish/blogging life in 2014? Like I mentioned, I got to meet a lot of awesome authors this year. Meeting Diana Gabaldon stands out as the best moment as she's been my favourite author for many a years. I just love her.

6. Most popular post this year on the blog? Not including giveaway posts, it was my July Wrap Up & August TBR. Interesting. Lol.

7. Post I wish got a little more love? I'm just happy that somebody takes the time to read anything I post. Thank you! I love you guys!

8. Best bookish discover(book related sites, books stores, etc...)? I guess Book Outlet. Even though it likes to take all my money.

9. Reading challenges or goals I set for myself for 2014 and completed? My Goodreads challenge and how many books I wanted to re-read. Otherwise I failed at life.

1. One book I didn't get to in 2014 but will be my number one priority in 2015? Anything by Brandon Sanderson. But I will most likely be picking up The Final Empire first.

2. Non-debut book I am most anticipating in 2015? Because there's soooo many I have to name a few. Confess by Colleen Hoover, The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord, Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen, and anything and everything from Jennifer Armentrout.

3. 2015 debut I am most anticipating in 2015? Red Queen. Gimme, gimme, gimme!

4. Series ending/a sequel I am most anticipating in 2015? Throne of Glass #4. I need it as much as I need to breath.

5. One thing I hope to accomplish or do in my blogging or reading life in 2015?
I plan on re-designing the blog in the early part of the year. I love my background picture, but it's time to make it more clean and mature. *sigh*

6. A 2015 release I've already read & recommend to everyone? A Court of Thorn and Roses. Pre-order it. Read it on May 5th. Than thank me for making your life that much better.

Here's to a fantastic 2015!

Happy reading!

Brittany

  1. Thanks so much for the mention! You totally made my morning! You've had such a great reading year! I'm really wanting to read the Lunar Chronicles and I think I told you that Maas is slowly sneaking on to my TBR. You've got me considering Outlander. No promises yet but I'm thinking about it! Red Queen is high up on my TBR too. I'm really looking forward to it. Hope 2015 is fabulous!
