Top Ten New-To-Me Authors I Read in 2014!
Some of this list might be a little surprising. One is a total shocker for sure. Lol. And than some aren't such a surprise as this is the year I really discovered New Adult. So I found a lot of romance authors I'd never even heard of before.
Some of this list might be a little surprising. One is a total shocker for sure. Lol. And than some aren't such a surprise as this is the year I really discovered New Adult. So I found a lot of romance authors I'd never even heard of before.
Malorie Blackman: I had heard of Noughts & Crosses and knew how well loved it is. But this is the year I finally read it and feel in love. That has a lot to do with Samantha because she's awesome and sent me the box set.
Jennifer L Armentrout: This is a shocker right? Of course I knew all about her books. But 2014 is the year I finally picked one up and than proceeded to become addicted. I have now read all her published books. Biggest accomplishment of 2014. Obviously she easily became one of my most favourite authors.
Christina Lauren: This summer I was in a major romance kick(when aren't I?) and heard good things about Beautiful Bastard. I bought it, read it and than bought and read the rest of the series(that was published) in 2 days. Thanks for creating Will Sumner
ladies!
Brian K Vaughan: 2014 is also the year I got into graphic novels. And how can I say I'm a graphic novels fan without having read and loved Saga? I really need to pick up his Y:The Last Man series this winter.
Dan Wells: I've heard bit and pieces about his Partials series but only when I needed an audio book and Partials was the first book I came across at my library did I actually decide to read one of his books. Thank God I did because the Partials trilogy was a huge and pleasant surprise. Totally binge worthy.

Kazu Kibuishi: Of course I'd heard his name last year as he's the cover artist of the US Harry Potter redesigns from last year(I still stare at mine all the time. Gorgeous!). Like I mentioned above, I really got into graphic novels this year and having heard his name before the popularity of his Amulet series made me pick it up. It's a fantastic middle grade fantasy series.
Jenny Han: The famous Jenny Han. Meeting her this past spring was finally the kick in the ass I needed to actually read one of her books. And I can now proudly say I've read more than one.
Samantha Young: As I also mentioned, this is the year I really discovered NA. And I read a lot of it this year. People kept telling me to pick up On Dublin Street. Ensuring I would love it. So when I finally did, I of course loved it and had to binge the rest of the series that was published.
Jay Crownover: Pretty much the same story as Samantha. Picked up Rule. Feel head over heels. The Marked Men series and Welcome to the Point are definitely some of my favourite NA books I've read this year.
Ryan Graudin: Heard a lot of buzz about her book The Walled City. Got my hands on an ARC and greedily devoured it. Definitely deserved the buzz. From discovering The Walled City I found out Ryan has others books published in YA. I'm definitely looking forward to getting my hands on them.
What are some of the new-to-you authors you read this year?
Happy reading!
