Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Winter TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme held by The Broke and the Bookish.

This weeks topic is:

Top Ten Books on My Winter TBR!

Well if I haven't mentioned it enough, I suck at sticking to TBR's. I pick up a book depending on my mood or what I feel like reading at that time. But let's go with the books I'm hoping to read within the next few months. I left out any new releases because I feel like I'm getting quite repetitive on the 2014 ones I'm excited for. So these are books sitting on my shelves right now.

Chaos Walking Trilogy by Patrick Ness: I just finished The Knife of Never Letting Go and really enjoyed it. So I'll definitely be finishing this trilogy off before winter is out.

Ruby Red(Ruby Red Trilogy #1) by Kerstin Gier: I have had this on my shelf for years. I constantly hear great things about it. Plus the last book just came out. So time to get to this.

Dark Triumph(His Fair Assassin #2) by Robin LaFevers: I read Grave Mercy a year and a half ago and loved it. Why I have not read this is beyond me. Something else just catches my attention. But I'm ready for it now.

Rose Under Fire(Code Name Verity #2) by Elizabeth Wein: Code Name Verity was one of my first reads of 2013. It was a brilliant read. So I think it's fitting that Rose Under Fire starts 2014 off on a high note.

Looking for Alaska by John Green: I need to get on reading the rest of John's books. Of course I read TFiOS when it came out. But I DNF'd An Abundance of Katherine's well before that. Gotta see how I feel about this one.

Gone(Gone #1) by Michael Grant: All six are just sitting on my shelf. Staring at my. Everyday. Enough said.

Jane Austen: I've never read anything by her. I know, shame on me. But I'm not a classics reader. Although every winter I try to read an Austen book. Maybe winter 2014 will be THE winter I actually follow through.

Fly Away(Firefly Lane #2) by Kristin Hannah: Every winter I read at least one Hannah book. And this is her first "sequel" to any of her books. As heartbreaking as Firefly Lane was, I'm really excited to dive into this one.

The Bronze Horseman(The Bronze Horseman #1) by Paullina Simons: This book has got a bunch of hype this year. So that's made me curious. And it also seems like the perfect January read.

The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare: I want to start re-reading the series in the new year in anticipation of the last book. I may have also forgotten a lot of what went down.

How about you guys? What's on your winter TBR?

Happy reading!

  2. Great picks! I must finish Ness' novels, too, but am kind of scared :X
Rereading TMI is pretty smart, I forgot half of it, too.

  3. I love Looking for Alaska! It's one of my favorite books. I love The Mortal Instruments series, and though City of Bones was probably my least favorite of the series I still thought it was okay. I'm definitely going to reread them before City of Heavenly Fire comes out in May.

    Happy reading!
