Showcase Sunday #39

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme held by Books, Biscuits and Tea. It allows fellow bloggers to show off any books or bookish things they've compiled over the week.

Hey guys. How goes it? I know this week has been a little slow here, but it's because I'm feeling a little burned out. So I think June in a whole is just going to be less posts. I've gotten to the point where I'm writing a review just because I feel like I have to. I don't want it to be like a chore. Plus life is really busy too. So June will just be posts I want to put up. And hopefully come July I'll be back in the full swing of things.
I did get some books this week. I place a Book Outlet order. Oops.

Top 5 Wednesday: Characters I Wish I Was More Like

Top 5 Wednesday is a meme started by Lainey at Ginger Reads Lainey. Find the list of all the #T5WFamily here.

This weeks topic is:

Top 5 Characters I Wish I Was More Like!

This list has nothing to do with the men their involved with. Absolutely nothing...;) Seriously though, all these ladies are awesome and kick-ass. They are some of my favourite leading ladies and I just want to be them. I want their lives and their men.

5. Hermione Granger

Obviously. She's smart as hell. A leader. Loyal. Stands up for what she believes in. Fierce.

4. Rose Hathaway

There's not much competition when it comes Rose and her kick-ass level. She's so strong and athletic. A little scary. Talk about being a loyal friend. And she's hot and knows it. So I'll take her confidence, too!

3. Tris Prior

Talk about character growth. Tris may at first come across plain and . But that quickly changes. She's brave, wise and selfless. She doesn't let life damage her. She does what needs to be done to save herself, her friends and the world she knows. Nothing stands in her way.

2. Claire Fraser
Here's a lady that gets thrown 200 years in the past and not only survives but thrives. Men rule the world and women have their place. But Claire doesn't let that happen. She's mouthy and pushy. She tells them many a times that's she's just as smart and strong as them. Claire fights back because she has to and never once does it weaken her. She also brings her knowledge of medicine to save a lot of lives.

1. Celaena Sardothien

What the hell do I not love about Celaena. I just want to be her. She's a freakin' assassin! The best assassin out there. It makes her unbelievably strong and fierce. She's not afraid of anything. She's scary. I would be scared to come across her like in the above picture. But I also love all her other quirks. She's hilarious. A bookworm. A fashionista.  Very intelligent. And a loyal friend.

What are some leading ladies that you wish you were more like?

May Wrap Up & June TBR

I'm soooo happy to be in June. I love my hot sunny weather. We don't really get a spring here. It usually goes from coats to no coats. May was a pretty busy month and seemed to go by fast. I was packing and just purging all my crap. I was training for a 5K(which I ran on Saturday, pictures are on yesterdays SS). And there was just life. But for feeling like I was pretty busy I sure read a hell of a lot of books. 26 books to be exact. :O *pats on back* A few were buddy reads with Samantha and one with Juhina(it was supposed to be two but I could not get into The Eternity Cure and had to put it down). I was also in a big re-reading mood(still am actually). My ratings overall were pretty good. So a very good reading month. Let's get into it.

Dream Factory by Brad Barkley & 3*
The Storybook of Legends(Ever After High #1) by Shannon Hale 4*
Pure(Covenant #2) by Jennifer L Armentrout 4*
The Battle of the Labyrinth(PJ #4) by Rick Riordan 4*(re-read)
Saga Volume 3 by Brian K Vaughan 5*
Blood Red Road(Blood Red Road #1) by Moira Young 5*(re-read)
The Return of Zita the Spacegirl(Zita the Spacegirl #3) by Ben Hatke 5*
This One Summer by Mariko Tamaki 3*
Burn for Burn(Burn for Burn #1) by Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian 4*
Rebel Heart(Blood Red Road #2) by Moira Young 4.5*
Raging Star(Blood Red Road #3) by Moira Young 4*
We Were Liars by E.Lockhart 4*
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire(HP #4) by J.K. Rowling 5*(re-read)
Breakable(Contours of the Heart #2) by Tammara Webber 5*
Faking It(Losing It #2) by Cora Carmack 4*
The Immortal Rules(Blood of Eden #1) by Julie Kagawa 3.5*
Finding It(Losing It #3) by Cora Carmack 4*
The Last Olympian(PJ #5) Rick Riordan 5*(re-read)
The Exile: A Graphic Novel by Diana Gabaldon & Hoang Nguyen 4*
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon 5*(re-read)
Tempting the Best Man(Gamble Brothers #1) by J.Lynn 3*
Silver Bay by Jojo Moyes 4*
Saga Volume 1 by Brian K Vaughan 5*
Saga Volume 2 by Brian K Vaughan 5*
Broken Hearts, Fences and Other Things to Mend(Broken Hearts & Revenge #1) by Katie Finn DNF @ 30%
Just One Night(Just One Day #2.5) by Gayle Forman 4*
So a lot of 4*. Which is great. Like I mentioned a lot of re-reads and also did some graphic novel reading. As for my favourite of the month would have to be some of my re-reads. But as for new reads would definitely be all 3 volumes of Saga. They are amazing! And Breakable was fantastic. It made me so happy to have Lucas's/Landon's POV. I love him.

For my June TBR I was thinking that I should make it the month of finishing series off. I have quite a few where I just need to read the last book. So annoying. :P I know I won't get to them all. But I'll make it a goal anyhow. I'm doing more buddy reads with Samantha. Ruin and Rising is finally almost here(which falls into finishing off all the series month)! Of course there's always review books I need to get too. I suck at getting to review copies. Anyhow, here's the planned ones including all the series books to finish off and the buddy reads.

Showcase Sunday #38

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme held by Books, Biscuits and Tea. It allows fellow bloggers to show off any books or bookish things they've compiled over the week.

Hey everyone! How was your week? Mine was a bit stupid. Well during the work week really. Work was really annoying and I was still packing. Ugh! But yesterday I did the Color Me Rad 5K which was a lot of fun. It will definitely be a yearly to do for me now. And there's a night run in September where it's all neon's and neon paint, so definitely going to try and do that one too.
Book wise I got three physical books that really won't be a surprise. Most people will be hauling at least two of them. And a few Kindle daily deals too.
