I think I've read the first five books, up through The Fiery Cross. One of these days I'll catch up with the other. But The Nightingale... girl, you need to read that one. Best book I read in 2015, one of my favorites by KH, and so unforgettable. But I'm with you... you totally have to be in the right mood for that. I think the main reason I haven't read The Nightingale is the same as your reason - I just can't quite handle an emotionally draining book right now but at some point I"m just going to have to make myself.
